Daiwa 23 Super Spod 45 SCW QD-OT

The Super Spod reel is a direct replacement for our very popular and respected EMBLEM Spod reel. The new Super Spod includes a number of very important upgrades compared to the old EMBLEM model.

During comparative testing we realized how great the advantage of the 45mm spool is in terms of the distance it can achieve compared to the spool size and shape of the original EMBLEM spod. We found that the new 45mm spool size can increase your cast by 10-15 meters.

On the Super Spod we have increased the number of ball bearings from 4 on the current EMBLEM spod to 6, making the reel run much smoother.

By changing the body and rotor material we have made the reel 70 grams lighter at 620 grams compared to the 690 grams of the old EMBLEM Spod. This makes the constant casting and retrieving while spodding easier and less demanding on the angler.

The line is retrieved at a speed of 118 cm per turn of the handle, making retrieving a spod from a distance a breeze.
